The training would enable participants from Ghana’s maritime law enforcement agencies utilize the platform to enhance surveillance and information sharing capabilities thereby improving maritime safety and security operations. The following agencies attended this session: GMA, Ghana Navy, Air Force, Port and Harbours Authority, Immigration Service, Marine Police, Fisheries Commission, Police Service, National Security, Narcotics Control Commission, Customs, and also regional organizations such as Multinational Maritime Co-ordination Centre (MMCC) Zone F, Interpol, Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC).

Mr. Pieter Smidt Van Gelder, Deputy Head Delegation, Political, Press and Information Section of the European Union (EU) to Ghana, said that the coordination of maritime safety and security was essential to monitor and combat any illegal activity at sea hence their support for the program.
